R & B stands for Rhythm and Blues, it one of the most famous types of the African American music that was being originated in the duration of the 1940’s.the abbreviation and the terminology of Rhythm and Blues was initially used by the organization that used to do the recordings, this was mainly used for the purpose of marketing of the recordings for the urban African Americans.
This was introduced at the time when the urbane jazz and rock based music along with instant and heavy beats were becoming more and more famous on the face of the globe. It is very much true that with the passage of time there has been a lot of changes that has been brought into the meaning of the R & B. It was being referred as the blue records in the 1950’s. At that time the R & B contributed a lot in the different forms of music such as the rock and roll, later on the term was also referred to as the music approach that was designed by the electric blues, soul music and some others as well.
Afterwards in the early 1960’s the British rhythm and Blues version was formed that came into being as the great feed back of the recordings that was done by the artists of the America. After sometime rhythm and blues were tried to be imitated by a number of bands that were developing club scene in the London. This indicates the influence of the R & B over the British musicians and as a matter of fact it had a great impact over them.
